How I knew I found my passion!

These are the moments I LIVE for. The moments I get to spend with my girls at the park -- their happy place. I can take them to the park anytime they want and return emails on my phone, while earning an income. I am present in their lives.
I knew I always wanted to be a mother.
I knew I always wanted to be a leader.
I knew I always wanted to be my own boss.
I went to college to earn my degree in business. Most people that earn their degree in a field is not the field they ended up being in. For me, my passions aligned when I began to coach. There are different ways to be a coach, but for my personality, I saw the need of a leader.
I knew that from the very beginning, that I had this desire to truly help someone. I just had to learn how and that is how leadership came into my lap. I spent less countless nights watch, listening, and reading any advice on being coachable, how to lead my team, and how to do this 100% from home. This wasn't something I was told to do, this was something I knew I had to do.
If you had someone that could show you how you can simply make an income from actively posting on social media, do a fitness program, follow a meal plan, would you do it? If so, comment YES. I am looking for those willing to put in the time to truly see this fitness business as the true beauty it is!

I was afraid of...

I was afraid to be a coach... there was so many reasons why I was not ready.
The only exercise that I have done in the previous year was a 5k training (it was my way to deal with having a miscarriage).
My husband was literally starting a new career.
We didn't have health insurance at the time.
I never finished a Beachbody program. The one I tried was P90X and my tush was on the floor in the first five minutes.
... I thought of every reason NOT to become a coach. I researched every program, every nutrition fact, other companies and nothing even compared to US.

Then, I started to list the reason WHY I had to start:
* Needed to lose the baby weight after having Lexi
* We were struggling with finances with switching careers for husband's job, so having the additional income to cover groceries, car payments, car insurance, cell phone bills, utilities, extra expenses for the girls
* I was going to be finally using my Business Management degree
* This was going to give me the opportunity to meet other like minded individuals. (I moved to a new state soon after getting married, so I didn't have many friends.)
* Having the opportunity to travel and meet the trainers that has been working my tush into shape
* Finally be my own boss and have a flexible work from home schedule with my kiddos by my side
* Create a team of wonderful people that are helping others inspire them to get a healthier lifestyle
* Most of all -- TRULY become a better version of myself for my family, friends, and for myself!
Could you find a reason WHY to join us?

"Rainbow" Tortellini Soup

This has been a true staple with my family.  When it rains, I am always down to make this.  However, I can't take credit for this recipe.  All the respects is to one of my favorite blogs -- Annie Eat's.

INGREDIENTS

1 tbsp. olive oil
½ cup onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp. dried oregano
1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes, with juices
4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth (or chicken broth)
9 oz. tortellini, any variety (fresh or frozen)
3 cups fresh baby spinach, loosely packed
Salt and pepper
Grated Parmesan, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.  Add the onions to the pan and cook until beginning to soften, about 5 minutes.  Add in the garlic and cook, stirring frequently, just until fragrant, about 1 minute.  Mix in the oregano and diced tomatoes.  Add the broth to the pot.  Bring the mixture to a boil.  Add the tortellini to the pot and cook according to the package directions.  One minute before the tortellini is fully cooked, stir in the spinach.  Remove from the heat.  Season with salt and pepper to taste.  Serve warm with grated Parmesan as desired.

Let me know if you try out this recipe!  Delicious to the core!

Week One of the 21 Day Fix DONE!

Whew!  What an amazing week of meals and workouts done.  My favorite workout by far is the Dirty 30, however I was please to have the Pilate day.  My body felt incredible to doing stretches.  I also know that my challengers were very grateful for the pilates day, especially starting with leg day first.

My favorite meals this week:
Lemon Pepper Chicken with Garlic Roasted Red Potatoes
Bruschetta
"Rainbow" Tortellini Soup

"Rainbow" Tortellini Soup  -- it is my daughter's favorite

My promises/goals this week:

To add more salads into my plan -- somehow I managed to get only one salad in this past week
To record a workout clip to share with my challengers

My results:

Already down 3 pounds -- first week
I haven't measured inches yet

My Journey // Day 1 of the 21 Day Fix

Good Morning!  I am beginning a new journey this season and that is restarting my fitness journey. This fitness journey of mine has been a beautiful ride.  My heart however, hasn't been the strongest in the past few months, so it lead me away from where I wanted to be.  That is with every season, every chapter, in your life -- your heart will sometimes be in a different spot.

I promised myself this time that I will get through this new round of the fix.  Not only for my team, my challengers, but for myself.  To show myself, I am worth it.  I am fearless in a battle of emotions.

The reason why I decided to choose the fix to be my plan of action is simply, because it works.  It will work wonders to your body.  Having this program lay everything out for you with nutrition (meal plan, portion control containers, grocery list, sample menus) and fitness (a workout for each day of the week).

I know this program will work, because it has for me in the past.  Yesterday, marked day one for me.  A day where I scheduled out and marked on the calendar, that it was happening.  The best part of all I am doing this with other people ALL over the states.  How incredible is that feeling!

The feeling that when I get to check into our virtual group there is already new posts of people getting in their workouts, showing us what they are making for their meals each day, asking to make sure we hold them accountable, seeing them write out their fitness goals for the summer/group.  How beautiful to have such an amazing support team!

Today, I am beginning day two of my journey.  Which my body is sore from yesterday, but that is not going to stop me.  My soreness is a good feeling.   A feeling that I am working to make something happen.  A feeling that I am FINALLY putting myself first.  A feeling that I am worth it.

Bottom line:  Fitness will change you in every direction, make sure you are enjoying your ride to the fullest!

My Story of becoming a Coach!

Hello and welcome -- want to share my story with you. When I was younger, I had absolutely no problem with staying thin. I averaged at 110 for many years UNTIL I got pregnant.
I never once thought I needed to eat healthy or think about going to the gym. However, I remember many times trying to exercise and I would be out of breath in minutes. Even though I was a decent number on the scale, my body was not healthy.
It took me several years of researching what would work for me. My body changed fairly quickly getting pregnant and my clothes didn't fit me the same.
When I found out that I was moving to an area where I could run near my house, that was the first leap I took. The first time where I set my mind to running a 5k. It took me 8 weeks to be ready to race and I finished my first 5k at 30 mins. Then, I got pregnant again. I stopped everything I was doing.
I didn't once think about fitness until I was ready to deliver her. I was pretty active on social media and decided to reach out to a fellow mom, because she was showing progress in Beachbody products. I quickly found out that I could sign up purely for the discount of products or I could actively work the business.

After discussing this with my husband, I was ready to take this next leap. I remember hating the fact he wanted me to stay home with the kiddos, because I loved going to work. This was going to solve a lot of problems for us. This became a solution for us -- a solution to continue stay at home with my girls, a solution to help with income, a solution to melt off the weight of just having Lexi, a solution to work from my phone, a solution to be my own business owner, and a solution to have my own team/tribe/girlfriends all over the US.
Now, two years later I am extremely happy for taking the leap of faith and completely trust my passion for leading, helping, and mentoring. Coaching changed my life for the better by being a complete solution for everything I needed.

What could your story be?

New Coach Training -- My Challenge Tracker

My Challenge Tracker is made up of two components: a free app and a Coach Portal. The My Challenge Tracker App provides Challenge Group participants accountability and support throughout their Challenge. Checking in daily encourages participants to keep drinking Shakeology, working out, and staying in touch with their Coach and fellow Challengers. Participants will be invited to download the free app by their Team Beachbody Coach. The My Challenge Tracker Coach Portal provides Coaches with an online mobile-friendly platform to track and motivate Challenge Group participants.
How does a Coach create a group? Once logged into the Coach Portal, click "Create New Group" on the homepage. Follow on-screen prompts to complete Challenge Group details. Click "Create Group." Review the profile page, click Next, and begin inviting participants. The Coach is automatically added to the group.
How many participants can a Coach invite to a group? A Coach can send a maximum of 250 invitations per group. Can the length of the group be adjusted? Yes, before the group starts, the start date and length can be adjusted by clicking on "Edit Group". After the group starts, you can only edit the end date to extend the length of the group.
Can a Shakeology-only or multi-program group be created? Yes. Choose either option in the "Challenge Program" dropdown menu when creating/editing a group. For multi-program, your participants will select their own fitness program when they set up their profile in the app.
How does a Coach invite participants? On the "Invitations" page, enter name & email addresses of invitees and click "Add to List". Or click "Add a list of email addresses" to invite participants in bulk. When ready to send invitations, click "Invite Participants" at the bottom of the screen. Additional participants can be added at any time. The Coach is automatically added to the group.
How does a Coach view or customize the invitation email? On the "Invitations" page, click "Preview/Customize the Invitation Email". The text within the white boxes is customizable. If text is edited, click "Save" and all future invites within this specific Challenge Group will receive this customized email version until another edit is made and saved.
How does a Coach invite themselves? When a Coach creates a Challenge Group, they are automatically added to access the Group on the App. The Coach will not receive the invitation email automatically but they can preview the email as shown in the answer above. A Coach can send the email to themselves by going to the "View Sent Invitations" page and clicking the "Resend" link next to their name if they haven't joined the group in the app yet.
How do participants receive invitations? Each invitee will receive an email from the Coach with instructions on how to download and access the app. If the invitee responds to the email, it will be directed to the inviting Coach.
Can a Coach invite the same person to multiple groups? Yes. Participants can join as many Challenge Groups as they wish, and be invited by multiple Coaches.
How does a Coach post to the group immediately? From Group Feed page, write a post within the "Post to the Group" box and click "Post Now" to post in real time. The latest Coach post will display on the home screen of the app, and all posts will display in the app group feed. The Coach can also post directly in the app as the Coach.
How does a Coach schedule a future post? From Group Feed page, choose "Scheduled/Draft Posts" to view/add future posts. Alternatively, create a post in the "Post to the Group" box on the Group Feed page, click on the dropdown next to "Post Now" and choose "Schedule". Choose the preferred scheduled time, which will be in the time zone chosen in the portal profile.
